Early Work: Commercial

I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1979 with a BFA in Painting and moved to nearby Nashville. I discovered no job openings for Abstract Expressionists. I had to drive a van. I did discover Raw magazine at a The Great Escape Comic Shop. Then and there,as only a 23 year old can do,I decided to drop Painting, become a cartoonist and illustrator and move to New York City. By 1982,I was up there in the East Village learning how to do it. I was getting pretty good, hoping to get better. And then I got a job in TV.
