PUPPETS

I started in with puppets when I was a 21 year old Art School Andy Kaufman fan. It was all about arty deconstruction and Punk Rock. No Muppets. No innocence or sassy fuzzballs with ping pong ball eyes. I liked hard faces made out of wood, rubber, paper mache or just plain old cardboard that did awkward things. I got lucky and got to jump into a commercial world with my bad attitude. Pee-wee’s Playhouse made me better at the craft,as did all the rest of the shows that followed. Much like animation,I love any art form where you can make your creation move, talk and come alive.
